Default Is my battery dead? Should I send it to service? - 12-27-2010, 12:43 AM

Hi. I have a 10v with 6-cell battery. I used to have almost 6 hours with active wifi and active usage. Few months ago, "Service Battery" warning showed up and now all I can get is 3-3.5 hours, 4 hours top. Is my battery dead? Is there a way to reset the battery?

And my guarantee continues. If I send my computer to service, what may they say? I mean, can I have a chance for battery replacement? Would it be a problem having os x installed? If I set it to boot windows directly, would it correct that problem? Will my personal files be safe? Or will they just wipe out everything?

I know, I asked lots of questions. Sorry 'bout that!
