Hi all;

I'm new here. Just picked up a used 10v in great shape with extended battery. Last night's install of 10.6 worked GREAT and I'm now updated to 10.6.4. I'm a bit paranoid to go much further as everything is working just fine.

The 10.6.3 dvd I bought didn't work for the install, but my friend's 10.6 did. Are there specific things I could have done to get my 10.6.3 stick to boot for the install?

what method did you use?

if you have an external drive, you can actually use your mini to prep a USB key using the 10.6.3 disk by following the mac method.

if you don't have an external drive, you can use this method:
OS X 10.6.3 Retail DVD-->USB no MAC; A GUIDE

but now that you have 10.6 on it, might as well just try the updates from, or even software update, but that doesn't seem to work for everyone:
