Default kernel panic - 11-15-2010, 03:58 PM

Hi.

So I got a hackintoshed Dell Mini 10v as a present last spring and I absentmindedly updated something (I think Mac OS version something? I have no idea!) while updating to the latest iTunes.

From what I've read in some of the threads, I've tried shift on reboot and recovery=y, but it doesn't seem to help.

After I type recovery=y and hit Enter, I get Hibernate image is too old by 3654473 seconds. Use ForceWake=y to override. Then the kernel panic/restart message shows up, starting with:

panic(cpu 0 caller 0x2ab790): "Version mis-match between Kernel and CPU PM"@/SourceCache/xnu/xnu-1504.9.17/osfmk/i386/pmCPU.c:707

I'm not sure if the Hibernate image and the kernel panic errors are one issue. Can I just re-install everything without losing files? Please help!

same problem here...bought my daughter a hackintosh last yr and she must have updated the OS version as well as Itunes etc...after updating she lost all sound and some mouse usage...we found the update extra fix from this sight...we ran 'update extra' and then rebooted .....now we just get the kernal panic on startup "unsupported cpu" and a screen that says 'u need to restart you computer'

is this toast? we bought the hackintosh already pre installed and dont have any of the software/mem sticks to fix...only thing we did install was ilife 08 which worked fine...

should i assume i need to re-hack this or is there a fix? i have looked a little here on the sight but seems a bit out of our league...

any advice appreciated
Thanks

Yup, hold the Shift key down right after you hit the power button and release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear)
