Default 10.6.4 - Extremely Slow booting - 10-12-2010, 04:22 PM

I've just upgraded my Mini 10V (2GB RAM, 160GB HDD A06 BIOS Dual Boot) from 10.6.1 to 10.6.4 via the combo update and netbook installer 2020100616212351 (linked to in this thread). From what I can see most things work (Wifi, sound, mic - still to try sleep) but every time I boot up SL I get the Apple Logo with the spinning wheel and the progress bar. From boot up to blue screen this is 15 minutes - every time. I admit I don't know too much about the low level stuff behind this, but I'm guessing this build of Netbook installer is causing something to go astray. Any ideas / options available to me? Thanks again

Update - Tried again rebooting and reinstalling Netbook Installer (version listed above) and the start up time is now between 25 - 30 minutes everytime with the progress bar. Still searching for a solution in the /extra folder - again any help is appreciated.

Edit: I upgraded to 10.6.7 and the problem remains. Things are working fine, but a cold boot takes 15 minutes of staring at a progress bar.

Did you ever resolve this? I'm having the same issue with 10.6.5. Wondering if going to 10.6.8 will make it better or worse.

If you are seeing a progress bar on the grey boot-up screen you must be booting in safe mode, and that always takes a lot longer than normal boot. You want to be sure that your plist does not include an soft switches like "-f, -x, -s", etc.
