Default Fix that super-bright power LED - 09-24-2010, 10:27 AM

The power/charge/sleep light on the Mini10v is SUPER bright, to the point where it can light up a dark room!
Here's a simple mod I did when messing with the trackpad:

I used a bit of purple nail lacquer to paint the plastic diffuser. The light has now been reduced to a nice purplish glow that's about as bright as the screen.

For a dimmer light without the tint, use black nail lacquer diluted with isopropyl alcohol. I do not recommend using acetone as I have found that the amount needed for thinning cause it to dissolve plastic.

Duct tape, it's color matched to the palm rest.

Just yankin' your chain, my led doesn't work at all.

Heh, I might have to try that sometime. The LED light Dell used is a bit annoying in low light situations.
