Default Does the 10v have bluetooth? - 09-13-2010, 02:30 AM

Is the fact that OSX reports no bluetooth installed because

a) it really is not physically there, or
b) because it is disabled in the BIOS?

Since installing 10.6.2 last week the option to enable bluetooth in BIOS has been unavailable. I can't remember if it was there before or not.

Most 10V's were sold without Bluetooth.

It was an optional accessory - if you had gotten one used / second hand, there's a good chance that it doesn't have BT.

if you're so inclined, you can grab one off ebay for fairly cheap and all you have to do is pry the palm rest/track pad up and click it in, i think it's held down with a single screw.

If you find yourself in need of Bluetooth but don't want to take your 10v apart, I bought this USB chip and it works fantastic: DealExtreme: $8.60 Mini Bluetooth V2.1+EDR USB Adapter Dongle - White

Yes I would recommend it! Also get a cheap Bluetooth mouse (again from eBay) - MUCH better than the trackpad!
