Any ideas? This is the first time in a year that I have had any problems.
I went from 10.6.1 right to 10.6.4. with the combo update and my audio always loads but it takes some type of sound to kick start it, fully functions however. But after awhile of using the machine it kind of goes to sleep! Then it requires another sound kick (like emptying the trash or pressing F9) to make it resume again.
I read somewhere on here there is something you can do via terminal that basically 'pings' the driver? every once in awhile to keep sound 'live' all the time ?
I also have whats referred to here as audio pop ? Meaning that the first time sound kicks on (ie: if I were to go to youtube) there is short 'pop' before the audio starts.
Otherwise it functions just fine, works everytime on reboot or coming out of sleep too. Seems odd that its so random machine to machine....
