Default SL 10.6.4 on 10v - Safe to install iTunes10? - 09-01-2010, 11:49 PM

New to OSX on the 10v, and was wondering if it is safe to update to iTunes 10?

And in general, what is safe to update, what isn't? I know not to install any OS updates 10.6.X, but what's the threshold to install stuff without having to redo NetbookInstaller stuff? Can you update iTunes? Safari? Security Updates?

Thanks

Anything other than an OS update should be perfectly safe to install. You don't have to re run NBI for these, at least it hasn't been needed yet.

If you are running 10.6.4, the version of NBI you are running should auto start at restart if needed.

They've messed with it quite a bit, many people are complaining - Here are some fixes:

Non-standard window buttons Fix the window buttons

Colourless sidebar icons Fix the sidebar icons

If you don't like the new iTunes icon Replace iTunes 10 Icon with iTunes 9 Icon

Yeah, I like it, and Ping is optional, you don't have to use it, it is disabled by default.

Many reports says currently Ping is spammer's paradise. I will defer activating it for a while.
