Default Keyboard and track-pad don't work OS X mini 10v - 08-25-2010, 06:26 PM

Tried searching, but can't find what I'm looking for.

I installed Mac OS 10.6.3 using iatkos.

During the installation, everything seems fine.

Once booted into the Mac OS X, the integrated keyboard and track-pad doesn't work. It's ask's me to connect a keyboard before continuing with the OS's setup.

With a USB keyboard and Mouse it runs great (Besides the Wifi being broken but not my concern right now) but it's not practical.

Now, I've tried voodoo and NBI, both "broke" the OS. Gave a screen on bootup saying "You must restart the system.... hold power button intill it goes off" or something like that. And it never goes back into the OS and I have to reinstall it.

This is my brothers netbook, so the specs that I do know come from the decal on it.

iatkos is your problem. Buy the retail copy of Snow Leopard, reinstall, re-run NBI, problem solved.

I think those are quite outdated guides unfortunately. I would use newer versions of the programs recommended there.

Check out programs such as Empire EFI, iBoot or NetbookCD - they should let you run the SL DVD installer if you're lucky. See for example: tonymacx86 Blog: iBoot + MultiBeast: Install Mac OS X on any Intel-based PC. For Empire EFI or NetbookCD you can just google the latest version, burn the image to CD, boot from CD, eject CD at the boot screen, insert SL DVD, Press F5, run installer and that should work from there.

They may be old, but they both work. Unless of course he's got a retail disc of 10.6.3+.
