Default Recovery=y does not work - 08-22-2010, 07:10 PM

Hi!
i just stupid wanted to update itunes and didnt check. Just realised when it was installing alreadyband too late to cancel.
I can get into the boot screen showing the hard drive but recovery=y does not work
Does anyone have any ideas how to get access again?
I dont mind reinstalling everything but i need to get access to some data and would prefer not to remove the hd.

I get displayed the following:
version mismatch between kernel and cpu

The loader is

Darwin/x86 boot v5.0.132 chameleon v2.0-rc3-nbi r
Build date 2009-12-06

Unfortunately i just followed thecinstructions when installing os x on my 10 v which worked fine but i dont really know too much about the processes inside.

Thanks for the help!

Made new usb boot stick with newest version of netbootloader.
Booted from stick and rund netbootloader.
Worked perfect.
I am truly amazed how well this software works. Much better than lots of commercial software.
Thank you very much.

@Franksterling: how did you run the bootmaker.app? I made a boot stick with the app on it, but can't get my Dell mini boot from the stick. How did you do this?

boot from the stick as if you wanted to install os x. once the os x usb "disc" boots and the installation process starts you get the menu bar on top of the screen (not sure at which point of the process but of course BEFORE the actual installation starts). from utilities you can choose the bootloader.
worked perfect for me.

OK, thanks! Now this part works.

However, now I get the message that the disk with the old version of OSx on is not accessible when I try to run the installer or try to do a fresh install of Snow Leopard. Next problem to solve...
