Default Screen Res Issue - 07-30-2010, 03:39 PM

Hey guys i needed to change my screen to have a longer down res as i needed to change a setting in a programme which was stuck of the screen on the netbook. I used switchresx to add the new resolution adn then applied it, however this seems to have broken my screen as theres are just lines across the screen now. Is there a way to restore older resolution that worked? or would i have to reformat my whole netbook to fix it : /

Thanks as the computer is currently unusable

Try plugging it in to an external monitor. If that works, remove the profile, and set a normal resolution.

Otherwise, try Safe booting
Hold F8 at bootloader before grey apple startup screen
then type -x
type enter
Again, try and remove the profile/switchresx

As for the original issue,
I could never get SwitchResX to work for me. But between an external monitor or AppleDisplayScaleFactor, I've been able to work around all application issues.

Have you tried re-running NBI, I applied the wrong screen res once and used that quick fix to get back to the default res. that is if your present resolution will allow you to preform this action.

only make sure you are running the correct version of NBI for your OSX.
