Default Dual boot DM10v / Boot camp question - 07-18-2010, 11:17 PM

I bought a Dell Mini 10v on eBay that arrived with Windows 7 and Mac OS 10.6.1 on it. When it starts up it shows two partitions that seem to have been created by some non-Apple software. It shows two choices that I can toggle between using the up and down arrow keys. It starts up with the Windows 7 partition chosen and which will load in a few seconds if I don't do anything. If I move the cursor down to the Mac OS selection it loads 10.6.1. My question is: Is that what Boot Camp looks like? I want to know what I am dealing with.

My next steps will be to see if I can resize the partitions, making the Mac OSX partition larger, and then upgrade MacOSX to 10.6.4.

Any suggestions?

I don't know much about dual booting or partitioning with the hackintosh's, but bootcamp is for apple hardware. What you're seeing is another bootloader (i.e. Chameleon)

How can I determine what bootloader it is using? I'd like to know what changes it will allow.

Also, I see you have 10.6.4. Did you install it directly or upgrade from an earlier version. In upgrading did you have to change the NBI? How can I tell which NBI I have, if indeed i have one?

I upgrades from 10.6.3 . I did update the NBI I was using, check out the 10.6.4 thread at the top of this forum for discussion and the NBI link.

Check the Applications folder for NetbookInstaller, and open it. Otherwise, I'm not sure how to check.
