Default itunes 9.2 accidental install - 07-17-2010, 07:49 AM


my girlfriend accidentally updated my mini10v running 10.6.2 to the latest itunes and now the laptop is in a constant reboot loop.

can anyone help point me in the right direction to get my machine back up and running again without losing files?

I very much doubt that it was iTunes that caused the problem. Much more likely she updated MacOS to 10.6.4. See the 10.6.4 thread for help with this problem (you're not the first.)

This same problem happened to me two weeks ago when I ran a combo up-date on a fresh SL 10.6.0 Dell Mini. The only way I could get up and running again was to shut it down and re-boot into my original usb osx install drive that I had created. Wait to hear from senior/expert advice before trying my way (am a newbie) The first thing I did after getting up and running again was to make a bootable rescue disc using SuperDuper (thank you JnC)

Mini 10v/1GB RAM/160GB HD/ BIOS A06/SL 10.6.6
Mini 9 /2GB RAM/ 16GB SSD/BIOS A05/SL 10.6.6
OSX Installation via USB & Mac
NBMaker 0.8.4.RC1 / NBI 20100616212351
