Default Warranty Issue???? - 07-03-2010, 05:09 AM

Hey so I've had OSX installed on my Mini 10v for about 6 months. And of course the battery for some reason has decided to f*** up. It gives me a warning of "Cannot Identify Battery" and the status light flashes.

So I contacted Dell and they are sending me a battery but the guy on the support line thought it may be a motherboard issue.

Anyways, long story short, if I have to have Dell work on it (replace the motherboard) do I have to worry about OSX being on my HDD? Does that void the warranty of the computer? I don't think it does because I can load Linux on there if I want...

I'm just not entirely certain. Thnx

I would just remove the hard drive before sending it in. If they say anything just tell them there are confidential documents on it, etc.
