Doesn't anyone work on Sundays? I'm so desperate! My work has come to a halt because of this. Here's what I've tried today, to no avail, using my Snow Leopard Install DVD USB stick:
-With disc utility, I repaired the disk and permissions.
-With netbook installer, I installed the mac extensions again. I also tried turning off Quiet Boot to see if it would diagnose anything.
-Tried to boot into safe mode, but I honestly don't know how to do that on the Dell Minis. Normally you would hold 'shift' while booting, but that doesn't seem to do anything.
Let me clarify once again what the problem is. I get past the initial Mac OS X loading screen (with the apple, ya know?). Then, upon loading the desktop, it starts looping. The mouse initially shows up, but then it disappears, and the looping begins. A loading indicator appears at the bottom of the screen every five seconds or so, and spins for a second then disappears.
Any help would be appreciated. I copied some of my important files to an external drive via the terminal, so I could do a fresh install. But quite honestly, that's a major pain in the ass and hence a last resort.
