Default Help to connect 10v os x to lcd tv!! - 06-18-2010, 01:38 AM

I am trying to connect my 10v to my Sharp LCD TV. I want to watch movies on the tv with friends instead of huddling around the 10" screen. I am using a VGA-DVI-A cable. When I plug in the cable to my 10v the screen goes blue for a second and the comes back but the TV still doesn't show anything. It just remains black/blank. The blue flash happens again when I disconnect the VGA cable from my 10v. While connected I can't access the Arrangement panel in my display options even though it seems like the 10V is picking up my tv display.

ANY HELP PLEASE? I am getting very frustrated with this. I get sound via AUX cable but no video with DVI-A. I only have HDMI, DVI and Composite inputs on my lcd tv and I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.3 on my 10v. Thanks!

Hmm, I'm not even getting a mirroring problem though. My tv is completely blank when I connect. I'll try it tomorrow, though, just in case it works. I'll respond back...

Tried this fix and still nothing!! Although the first time I tried to plug in my 10v screen went blue and then got stuck that way. Tv was still blank....

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP? I'M PULLING MY HAIR OUT ABOUT THIS!!

Do you have a vga monitor you could try going VGA to VGA with? I'm thinking it might be something with the vga-DVI conversion.

Unfortunately, I don't. I guess I could try buying VGA-Composite cables but I don't what to do that for quality reasons. Also, this VGA-DVI connector by any other reason should work because I've seen reviews that report it works from VGA coputer to DVI monitor (although not on the 10v). I'm gonna try updating to 10.6.4 and maybe that'll help? (With the new NBI of course)

EDIT: I updated to 10.6.4 and tried hamburglr's trick and now my NETBOOK WON'T BOOT! It goes to the Apple screen then says i need to restart my computer. Is this a kernel panic? Any fix for this?.... (I booted up 3 times previously with 10.6.4 working perfectly without this message)
