Default HELP PLEASE! Can't boot up after update - 06-15-2010, 08:50 PM

I recently purchased a Dell Mini 10v with Snow Leopard installed. It has been working fine but I accidentally did a recommended operating system update and now it gets caught in a loop when it tries to boot up and never gets out of it.

Anyone have any ideas how I can fix this without doing an entire reinstall? Is there any way to "go back" to before the update? I REALLY NEED TO FIX THIS SO ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Never, never, never do an OS version update without FIRST checking in this forum to make sure it's ok. You probably got 10.6.4 which is reported to NOT work at present on the Minis. Watch the **OFFICIAL** Mac OS X 10.6.4 Update Thread for news.

Hi Steve - I understand that now. :-(
Any suggestions for what I can do now to get my machine running again? Is there any step by step tutorial to either do a re-install or some other procedure?

Thanks.

Fred

I just found out that 10.6.4 was just released yesterday (Tuesday) and I did my update on Monday morning so isn't it likely that I updated to 10.6.3? Does this make a fix easier?

Meklort posted a fix for the problem in the thread I linked to. But if you were updated to 10.6.3 without using NetbookInstaller 0.8.4RC1, you'd also have a problem. Read the separate thread on that in the General section. I don't know how to tell which you have.
