Hello. I'd like to take a 500 GB hard drive out of my black 13" Macbook and put it in a Dell Mini 10v. I searched the forum and couldn't find anything about this. Would I need to actually install Snow Leopard or could I just take the HD out of the Macbook and put it in the Mini 10v?

It should work since they both use standard laptop SATA hard drives.

Right, I realized that they are the same type of drive (2.5" SATA).

I'm more interested in whether I can just take the drive with OS X out of my Macbook without making any changes. Would I need to install OS X on the Mini 10v or can it work without doing that?

The reason it's called Hackintosh is you have to hack the system to install. Simply inserting a Mac drive with SL on isn't going to work.

Thanks, I suspected drivers, etc would all require a fresh install, but didn't want to be doing all that work unnecessarily.
