Connecting a Samsung monitor to my 10v through VGA I can run the display at a high resolution, whether connecting a HDMI converter will allow this I don't know.

Hmmm... It may be different since I'm connect to an LCD tv. I went the DVI route and will see how that pans out. Hopefully it works and works well. Otherwise I can always default to VGA-RCA but I'd rather not for quality and input availability reasons. I'll follow up to let you know how it goes.

I'm jumping in with a question about enabling the VGA output on the Mini 10V in OS X SL. When I tried to do it in OS x SL with the key presses that work on the 10v in XP I found that it didn't work. Is there a key press combo in OS X SL that will toggle the 10v VGA out port?

Should just plug and play if the connection is good. From what I've read around the forums you shouldn't press the F1 key for OS X. Instead, download a program called MirrorDisplays and open it when you've connected your 10v to tv. This will turn OFF mirroring (showing the same image on both screens) and enable extended display (having the tv as an extension of your 10v screen). Make your tv the primary extended display and you're good to go for watching movies. I haven't tried any of this yet since I'm still waiting on my DVI cable, but that's the jist I get from other forums.

As stated in the thread title, I want to connect my 10v to my Sharp Aquos LCD TV to use it as a media center, watching Hulu or streaming movies on my TV. I bought a VGA-HDMI cabel and mini Stero-RCA (white and red only) cables. I connected them to the the VGA out and Headphone jacks and then plugged them into my tv inputs. I checked to make sure they were the same input and correctly worked. I used to have a Mac Mini running with the same setup and it worked beautifully. However, with the 10v connected I get a blank screen when I go to my input. Nothing comes up at all. No sound either.

Do I need a converter? How do I get my TV to act as a large display for my 10v?

Oh yeah, I'm running 10.6.3 with NBI0.8.4....

you might want to think about what sort of video the 10v is capable of before you invest in any sort of converter for the video stream. The 10v (with it's gma 950 chip) can barely handle decoding hulu standard def on its 10.1 " screen, it will definitely not be capable of showing smooth video on a large lvd tv. In my experience, even playing a compressed .mkv file from the hard drive (which uses much less processor power than internet-based flash video) is choppy when the 10v displays it on a high def tv. if you really want to play high-def video streams on an lcd tv, you should think about purchasing a nettop with an Nvidia Ion chip (geforce 9400) as they can even handle 1080p - it is amazing.

So I purchased my DVI-A cable online and my 10v screen flashes blue every time I connect or disconnect it from the TV but I still don't get anything but a black, blank screen on my tv!! Is there anyone who has a suggestion for me? I don't even get weird lines indicating mirroring. Sounds works fine via aux cable...
