Last November I converted my mini 10v (bios A01) from Ubuntu to Snow Leopard using the Mechdrew's excellent instructions using an external CD/DVD drive, Netbook CD 0.8.3RC4, & a retail Snow Leopard DVD (10.6). It ran great until I updated iTunes last week & it locked up during the installation & never came back upon forced shutdown/restart.
I went to re-install Snow Leopard using a different external DVD drive because my daughter borrowed my original one & I am unable to get past the Netbook CD--when I load the SL DVD the external optical drive & hit F5 (or Fn F5) the drive doesn't read it. I restored the Bios using F2 on start up & re-installed Ubuntu sucessfully, but I am unable to get see the SL DVD when I hit F5. Sometimes during the bios startup, I'll hit F12 & select CD drive, but it will continue on & start from the hard drive.
I hopefully will get my original CD/DVD drive back in a couple of weeks, but it seems odd to me that the optical drive is the installation problem. Thoughts anyone?? I really would appreciate getting my Mac mini back--Ubuntu isn't quite my cup of tea.
Thanks in advance,
