Default Hibernate/DeepSleep not working on 10.6 - 03-25-2010, 05:29 AM

Search, and you will find many discussions about this. The bottom line is that hibernate doesn't work for most people on 10.6. A handful have it working; but as of yet, it is not clear why it works on some but not others (most).

I hat the same problem, but I found help in a german forum.
Try this:

1. Open Terminal
2. "sudo pmset lidwake 0" + enter
3. "sudo pmset hibernatemode 3" + enter
4. "Legacy USB-Support" switch off in BIOS.

Now the Dell wake up from hibernation with the power button.
Works fine for me.

Different issue. That is waking from sleep. Hibernate is not the same as sleep.
