Nope. I'm a really late comer to the iPhone, have had it about a month now. As I suspected there is no freaking way I'm giving up OS X for that operating system whatever it runs on. I have everything on it, Cydia, Installous, a lot of cool programs, but as a stand alone device it's a failure for me. No way could I leave on a trip with just that operating system. I do however think a Minitosh and an iPhone are a perfect combination!.....I'm happy as can be

The iPad is a piece of junk.

I already have an iTouch, which fits in my pocket.

800 quid for something that is cumbersome, single-tasking and cries out "mug me"? No thanks. I'll buy a paperback book and swap it with someone once read.

I'll buy one when the iPad and the keyboard w/ iPad dock with apple care combined cost as much as a refurbished mini 10v. Currently these three together cost $706 before taxes. My mini cost me $260.

The only way it could actually replace the Mini is if there was a way to run Windows browsers on it. My Mini is here because I still run on older PPC hardware and I need cheap emulation to view web development in a default Windows environment (thank you Virtual Box!)

But if VB or one of its ilk came out for the iPad, then - yeah. No need for me.

Yes, eventually. I think I can hold out for iPad revsiion 2 though... I've gotten bit by Apple first-gen technology (my bondi iMac with the bad ethernet port).
