Default trying to install snow leopard - need to restart? - 01-12-2010, 04:12 PM

Hey,

I've got a dell mini 10v and have been following a guide to install snow leopard, i boot into the usb and the grey background comes up followed by the apple logo (ready to start the installation), but then i get a message:

"You need to restart your computer".

Now on windows I could hit ctrl + alt + del, but as its in the apple installation that doesnt work, and I cant see a reset button anywhere on the dell, all I can do is power off and then back on, but I get the same message then.

Any ideas?!?!

Default Bio a04 - 01-13-2010, 01:36 PM

That happened to me when I tried to install with previous version of Bootmaker with BIOS A06. I cleared it up by going to A04. Or you may want to use latest Bootmaker

don't give up !!! i just make it work !!! use this guide

http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/mac-...ng-system.html

but instead of use the "dd command" to put the image of the snow leopard on the usb use TRANSMAC Acute Systems web site open the program select your usb drive (8gb is good) rithg click and select "format disk with disk image" select your snow leopard image i follow the process in my case take 1 hour. after is finish continue with the installation guide enjoy !!!

I had the same "Restart Your Computer" message, creating the image and then putting it onto the USB stick with Transmac worked for me.
