So if anyone wants to reply please answer with: 1.Start-up time (from pressing power to having Wifi working etc) 2. Shut-down time (from pressing shut down to having the power indicator light go off). 3. Also include things like: how many times the pinwheel at the grey apple screen spins. 4. If possible please include your Hardware specs / Software Version etc. / and your BIOS settings. Here are mine: Start-up: 1:18 Shut-down: 0:04 Pinwheel Spins: average 46 Hardware specs etc are in my sig. Video of my boot time time: Thanks. But, your start-up is faster especially your pinwheel (wow it's way better!) what are your bios settings, like what's enabled and what's disabled? Thanks for the response! I upgraded to an SSD today, so was in the fortunate position to be able to do a side by side comparison with the stock HDD. First I tested with the SSD, then the HDD. It occurred to me that I had previously done a verbose boot and noticed that VMware Fusion was waiting for something during boot, so I uninstalled it on the HDD image and tried again. Finally I put the SSD back in the mini and timed the boot again to see how repeatable the results were. Overall, the SSD does make boot up quicker, but not massively. It really comes into it's own when running and especially launching apps, which are just snappier now. I usually don't shut down, preferring to sleep the system by closing the lid. I hope that boot times can be reduced though, but I don't think it's a top priority for Meklort, and he's the guy that most of us are relying on for our Hackintosh tools. Test results are...
