Default Disk Utility - Invalid Directory Item Count - Corrupt volume - 12-20-2009, 08:22 PM

I don't know if this is due to being a hacked OS or a perhaps due to a restore from backup with Carbon Copy Cloner or what.

I ran Disk Utility (verify disk) on my Dell Mini and received "invalid directory item count (should be 31 instead of 29)" and "Volume was found to be corrupt and needs to be repaired". Then, Disk Utility stopped verifying indicating that the disk needed to be repaired by starting up with the installation disk and running Disk Utility again to repair the disk ... easier said than done without an external USB drive. I would gladly try fsck in single user mode if I could figure out how to launch fsck at bootup. I know how on the iMac but not on my hacked 10v. Anyone have any ideas?
