Unhappy KPs with Bios A06, Mini 10v - 12-15-2009, 10:28 PM

First off, thank you to all the moderators, guides, and very useful information on this forum. I haven't found anything discussing this particular topic, so if it's been discussed already, please forgive me.

I was able to get SL 10.6.1 running on Bios A06 on a 10v, taking out the HD and putting it into an external USB enclosure.

Everything works (sound, wireless, etc), except sleep, but I'm noticing KP's fairly commonly. They pop up with watching movies and trying to backup via Time Machine especially. I've tried multiple times and it KP's at different points in time.

Has anybody else had this problem, and would this be solved with a Bios downgrade? I'm thinking about biting the bullet and reinstalling windows to do the A06->A05.

Thanks in advance for any help in this matter! I'm really loving my little netbook.

I don't know specifically about the BIOS issue, but have you tried repairing the permissions on your disc? Worth a shot.

Thanks for the tip. I tried that but it didn't work. I ended up reinstalling XP, flashing down to A05, and I haven't gotten a KP since. =)

Yes, had the exact same issue at least 5x I tried.

With A04 went straight straight through, 4 days zero KP !
