Default 10.6.2 screwed up my 10v! No network card. - 12-14-2009, 01:02 AM

So, I have a feeling I did something wrong here. I had a super solid running 10.6.1 10v with NO issues whatsoever. Of course I see a notifcation pop up saying there's an update to 10.6.2 and I downloaded and installed.

Now it cannot find my airport card and I have no Internet. Also it takes a good 45 seconds to shut down or restart when it was pretty much instant before. That's just the two problems I've encountered, worried there's more I don't know about

anyone experience this or have a fix for it? Thanks

edit: also discovered NO SOUND. Pretty annoyed.

Go to the NBI 8.3rc4 testing thread. Tons of info from those who have updated from .1 to .2. In a nutshell your supposed to run rc4 before the update, do the update, then run rc4 again.

But...since your past that, Meklort posted instructions on how to fix it for those that did the update first.'s never a good idea to just update an OS without checking here first. I hope your not on bios A06, because your probably going to have problems if you are.

This script, derived from macsmart and modded for my own needs, will make a duplicate and patch bcm43xxIO80211Family.kext.

Place it in a directory, open terminal cd into it the directory and

sudo ./
Install the kext, fix permission and update kextcache.
