Anyone who uses the NBI installer please chime in, I don't so I am guessing its method.
Again, the first thing you should do when debugging is boot in verbose with the -v flag. This will shed some light on the issue.
However, assuming it is sleepenabler and it NBI uses standard chameleon install method:
Boot single user mode, -s, and enter the commands posted above the prompt
/sbin/fsck -fy /sbin/mount -uw
ls -l /System/Library/Extensions/SleepEnabler.kext
ls -l /Extra/Extensions/SleepEnabler.kext
rm -R /System/Library/Extensions/SleepEnabler.kext
rm -R /Extra/Extensions/SleepEnabler.kext
Alternately, seek and rm your kextcache from the prompt you are in
Typically this would be.
rm -R /Extra/Extensions.mkext rm -R /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/Extensions.mkext
