Maybe Windows 7 just has problems with guide 2, I'd try another OS but all 4 PCs in my house run 7 Professional. So I had to use Guide 1 to install SL on my mini 9, but it was a drag having to install Leopard on a PC just to be able to do guide 1. Maybe people with Windows 7 Professional and up should try XP mode, if they can use it, I haven't tried it but it might work

You are not the first one facing this problem. I faced the same problem when I first try to jumpstart my OSX with this option which failed on me for several days. Finally, I opted to use the external drive option. I am glad that finally we found out the root cause ..
