Default Question about updating Leopard on 10V - 12-09-2009, 06:06 PM

I lent out my mini to a friend, and they decided to help me out by installing the recommended updates, which I hadn't done for fear of bricking the machine. As feared, the computer no longer works- boots up to a screen that is just a pixelated mess of gray and white.

Am I going to need to reinstall OSX to get through this, or are there any other options?

Thanks guys.

You could try a USB boot from a disk that's been imaged with the OSX install DVD and the NetbookBootMaker app. I've used that to recover a broken boot before. In the "Utilities" menu at the top of the screen you will find "NetbookInstaller". Just run that on the drive and it should get you booting again. If you have 10.6.2, use NBM 0.8.3RC4 to prep the USB drive.
