Default External Monitor, can change screen calibration settings - 11-23-2009, 10:09 PM

I have had 10.6.2 running like a dream, but im trying to calibrate my external monitor, it looks washed out, but when i move the sliders in the sys pref display settings they wont stick, no matter where the slider is, it just resets back to this washed out look

Help is very appreciated

Thank you

By resets itself, do you mean that the sliders physically slide back to their positions after you move them, as if they are spring-loaded? Or do you mean that after you save your new profile under a new name, activating that profile doesn't change the appearance of your external monitor's image?

as in no matter where i move the slider it goes to what gamma it should be at then a second later switches back to default color, but the slider stays where you set it

i also found out it does it to the notebook screen when it is unhooked

If it shows this same behavior when you are using only your builtin screen/display on the netbook, then it is my guess that something is not right with your installation. What you describe is not sounding like it is an error that is caused by any external monitor/display.

Have you tried:
- running Permissions Repair in DiskUtility
- booting into Safe Mode ( -x at the Boot: prompt ) and trying to fix it there?

Just ideas...
