Default Will the mini 10v with Win 7 Starter edition works? - 11-21-2009, 03:40 AM

Hey,

I'm Adam, here in singapore, the 250GB model which is selling at S$629 - S$669 comes with the Windows 7 Starter edition.

I'm wondering will the Hackintosh guide/methods still work with Windows 7 pre-installed instead?

Thank you very much
Adam

That will work just fine, it doesn't matter what OS comes preloaded, you'll just be erasing it anyway.

Cachehog, may i ask how are you going to use your netbook?

I think i will mainly use it to to hold my reading materials - research journals, PDFs instead of printing them. Access my emails..and write my proposal in a cafe..(Can't think in the office).

Software i think i will be using is mainly a PDF reader, and browser (Gmail, google docs) or a word editor, spreadsheet, powerpoint..

Wonder if i need to Hacintoshed it.. but, it's certainly way cooler hehe.

Thanks!

just curious - folks who get a mini with windows 7 starter - can you sell your keys cheap? or are the installs a dell-only image? have an experiment in mind... my mini came with xp (and i'm still amazed how much faster os x runs vs a supposedly cleaned-up xp)

thanks

You can't sell them per the licensing agreement. It is only licensed for use on the machine sold.

Not only that, but most likely, the disk won't work with a non-Dell computer.

Trust me, OS X will work better than any version of Windows available EVER.
