It did give me a kernel panic, so i booted from my usb drive, and reinstalled netbook installer 8.3 4 RC from the USB drive. This fixed my problem of USB legacy support turning back on after each restart. It was a lil scary but this did fix my issue with sleep and USB legacy support turning on in the bios.
I'm running 10.6.2 with bios A05.
Confirming.....
This method fixed my BIOS from re-setting to default after every restart.

The BIOS problem surfaced after doing a clean install of SL 10.6.2 using the USB stick method and NBI 0.8.3 RC4

Small update:

Testing it on an other machine: It is sufficient to run NBI 0.8.2 and then 0.8.3RC4 again. The reboot in between does not seem to be necessary.

so I just tried disabling USB Legacy Support and actually the closed lid sleep works now. If I put it in sleep mode through finder I simply have to press the power button once and it turns back on. it needs a sec to turn bluetooth back on but it works.

thanks for the tips guys as always....now just gotta sort out the trackpad!
I spoke to soon. It resets on restart and shutdown.

Default hey guys... - 11-21-2009, 08:46 PM

I tried this fix, I disabled the USB legacy and it DOES fix the sleep issue but I find that when I shut off my mini, it reverts back to being enabled! What's with that and h ow can I fix it?

I am running SL on a dell mini 10v...

Thanks a lot,
Helio

I am having the same sleep issue. Mini 9 with SL and Win 7. I will disable the legacy USB, but what else is effected by doing this?

Thanks all.
Love this site.

Used Mini 9, 8GB. Looking to upgrade HD, 3G, and BT.
