Unhappy FIXED: Fresh install XP/10.6.x dual boot problem - 11-15-2009, 01:30 PM

Hi to all,

i tried to make a fresh MBR installation as described on mechdrew´s Advanced 2 document.
Therefore i made a new 10.6.0 restore on a usb drive and run´s the new 0.8.3 RC4 NetbookBootMaker.
After that i made 2 new partitions on my 10V HD, the 1st for XP and the 2nd for OSX.
After the installation of XP, i reboot into the usb drive OSX installer, but the OSX partiton signed with a yellow exclamation mark and i wasn´t able to install the OSX in it.

I thought the 0.8.3 RC4 NetbookBootMaker runs automatically gptsync...

I also tried to modify the OSInstall.mpkg, but if i do that, i become also a error message after reboot from the usb disk, that i should check my DVD.

Could anybody help me with the problem? I don´t like to switch the XP installation from the first partition away!

Best regards,
Oliver

gptsync only works on a GPT harddrive. When NBI is run, it'll make a hybrid gpt/mbr table off of the gpt table.

So what must i do to install OSX in my 2nd partitition?

If i start NBI in the installscreen, there is no disk found where i could run it to.

Got it!

SL need two modified files! You find a Howto on this side:

Patching SL Installation for MBR Disks

Thank god...
