Question Can your 10v run Aperture??? - 11-11-2009, 02:48 PM

Hi all,

I have a strange problem that I can run Aperture 2 before. But it can't after the day I reinstall NetbookInstaller 0.8.3RC and do the upgrade of Aperture 2.

I had tested my 10v with the Compatibility Checker of Aperture from Apple. It says the "Your graphics card is not supported."

According to Apple - Aperture - Technical Specifications, it supports Intel GMA 950. But, this seems not correct.

This is my 10v:
Dell Mini 10v | Mac OS X 10.6.1 | 1 GB RAM | 160 GB HDD | BIOS A04

Not sure about Aperture, but Lightroom 2.5 works. Also the whole CS4 suite runs fine, even with 1GB RAM.

to underwhelmed: thanks for the reference. I had read that before. But my situation is that it had ran before, but not now. I don't know why.

to Bear Hunter:
1. what version do you use?? Mime is 2.1.4.
2. have you do the upgrade distributed at 10th, Nov.??

I had tried to remove the upgraded version and reinstall to it. It gives me another message like:
You can't run application "Aperture" in this Mac OS X

Hi all,
I know what's going on.

The my GMA 950 driver is incorrect. I have the same problem as mentioned in the following thread. That's the reason that Aperture says it can't run.

Can't view full images in iPhoto (or Preview)

Hi,

I am getting my mini 10v on Friday and SL 10.6.1 will be going straight on it, just thought I would offer this idea though, if you have updated aperture maybe it has now implemented a minimal screen resolution check.

Some users are reporting the same sort of error on applications that check for at least 1024x768 and they have had varying support with using the resolution scaling hacks in this forum.

As I don't have mine yet I can't say for certain that this is the issue, but I am interested to follow this as aperture will certainly be going on mine.

You may well have thought of this already, but just an idea.
