Default another noob question about netbookinstaller - 11-11-2009, 11:03 AM

I initially followed the gizmodo steps to making my own osxmini and things seem to work fairly well except sometimes restarts take a long time and require a power cycle; luckily I don't need to reboot much.

I then found the real machdrew guides and have a question - I never ran nbi after installing the 10.6.1 update. Should I? I'll admit to being a little nervous of messing up the Mini and having to start again.

Thanks again to everyone here - amazing bit of work you all have done.

J

If the gizmodo guide you used employed DellEFI then you need to do some thread searching here to switch to NBI.

If you're chameleon based I'm pretty sure it's save to run NBI at any time. My install used NBM and I've run NBI any number of times for various reasons.

mini 9 | 2GB RAM | 16GB STEC SDD | BIOS A06, USB Legacy OFF | No Bluetooth | OSX 10.6.7 | NBI 0.8.5pre w/ ALC268 | Broadcom2Airport
MINI Cooper '02 | 1.6L | CVT | Moonroof | Red w/ White Stripes

Want the ALC268 mini 9 sound fix? Get it here http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2377323/Mini9SoundPatch.zip

No DellEFI so I guess I'm safe. Thanks
