Error when trying to boot installer from USB - 11-07-2009, 05:48 PM
Following this guide. I've got BIOS A05 on a 10v. I've tried and tried, but I can't seem to get this to work. I initially tried all this on my main Vista PC but it kept giving me access errors, so I moved all the files, including the macdvd.iso file I made, over to the 10v which is running XP. I followed the guide through and ran dd on both the smaller and the larger drive to create the NetbookCD and OSX installer drive, respectively. No errors.
Now I'm stuck. I've set the boot order to be smaller USB drive first, with the larger under that, and hard drive second. With both drives plugged in, I get a "no operating system found" error. With just the smaller drive, it boots to Windows. With the OSX drive set to boot first, it boots to Windows. I've tried remaking both drives a bunch of times, which didn't help. I plugged the OSX installer drive into a laptop running Ubuntu, where it shows up as an OSX install disc, icon and all, complete with everything it ought to have (as far as I can tell).
I'm lost. Can anyone help? I'd really like to get this working but I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
