What sort of time do you call 'horrible'?

Three hours, two hours, one hour... or even less than that?

Go with the 6-cell. Doubles battery life...makes the footprint a bit bigger, but, not much. It's just the way it is with the 3-cell and OSX on the mini

I get about 2.5 hours with 3-cell.
I am using a a spinning hard-drive and not an SSD.

That does sound very low indeed, and is much less than it should be... as the previous poster said, about 2.5 hours is a bit nearer the mark!

Could it possibly be a faulty battery do you think, or is it a fairly new on?

Turn down your wifi? I get a good 1.5-2 hours on it. I'm waiting for Christmas to get the 6 cell.

i have the 6 cell...and i seem to get damn near 6 hours. before I installed the voodoopowermini kernel extention, i was closer to 4.5hours, which was unacceptable, given that the estimated life was over 8 hours with winXP.

I get 2:45m with mine, but I have a very power hungry drive.

O another note, yesterday I completely forgot to plug in the 10v when I got home, and from my calculations I spent well over 3h30mins... Constant use with wifi but I kept going away and back, the screen went black several times, but didnt sleep.

I suspect the timer does not calculate correctly. I will run a test this weekend, with a rpoper timer.
