Hi Vud and Philip. I ran into the same problem here just recently in trying to install snow leopard.
I believe the problem is the Netbook CD 0.8.3.RC3. Don't use this after your initial setup of Snow Leopard. Use NetbookBootMaker 0.8.3 RC3 instead which can be obtained through mechdrew's website here:
Downloads | OS X | mechdrew
After you do that, however, when you boot up you will have the proper display and functionality except for sound and mic. To correct this, use the Netbook CD 0.8.3.RC3 but only install the extensions, nothing else. Don't use the bootloader from Netbook CD 0.8.3.RC3 - this is giving you the issue. After you install the extensions, everything should be working perfectly (along with airport) for your Dell Mini 10v.
The install of the update should go smoothly as well once you complete this process. So do a fresh install of Snow Leopard once again and follow the instructions up above. I hope this helps.

As I stated in the NetbookCD development thread, the 0.8.3 cd (for Snow Leopard) has a bug where the installed NetbookInstaller in /Applications doesn't generate the extensions cache corrrectly. Use the NetbookInstaller 0.8.3 RC3 from either the CD (it's a different version) or downloaded from Downloads - netbook-installer - Project Hosting on Google Code
