Question Mini 10V not working with Airport Extreme - 11-01-2009, 09:22 PM

Hi,

My Mini 10V picks up all other wireless access points besides my Airport Extreme setup that I have.

I have installed Snow Leopard on it successfully and is running bios A04.

Is there anyway I can use my airport with my mini?

Thanks

If it doens't show up via your AP, you can join a network by typing in the network name and password. Does that method work for you?

Hmmm

i've got a 10v running 10.6.1 (and previously 10.6.0) and have had no issues with my Airport Extreme

relocate to somewhere near the AE and try again. I have had issues with my iMac and the AE where it is intermittent in being able to keep a connection

Hi,

I tried sitting right next to my Airport Extreme and still it would not find anything.

I also tried to see wether i could join the network too but that failed also.

If I hardwire ethernet straight in then it works fine :S

Not sure whats going on.

Thanks

I just replaced my router last night with a new Airport Extreme last night and the setup of both my Minis (10v + 9) on that network was painless. Mine are both running 10.5.8.

10.6 newly and nicely installed but my airport network can't show up in the network list! Did you find a solution?

Is your AEBS set for N only and do you have a b/g card in the mini?

My thought, too: If you have the AptExtreme running wireless-n and the stock card in your Mini 10v (which is wireless-b/g) the 10v will not see your signal. Change the settings in the Airport Extreme.

Default Check to make sure you don't have closed network - 01-01-2010, 03:20 AM

+1 on what's been suggested. If you have an 802.11 b/g card, and your Extreme is set to N only, it's not going to work. Also, make sure you don't have closed network set on your airport extreme. That will work of course, but you'd have to type in your SSID and it wouldn't show as available in the airport client on your 10v. You would find that setting under Airport, Wireless, and Wireless Options. One other thought, the latest airport extreme (which I don't have) can also broadcast at 5Ghz, 2.4Ghz, or both. Your card on the 10v will only work at 2.4Ghz, so check that any settings for that too in case you have the latter. I've only seen the specs and have no experience with the latest model so it may work a little differently than I've described.

Unless you have the N card on your mini of course.
