Default Crashed Hackintosh - 10-29-2009, 02:11 PM

I have a mini10v with SL upgraded to 10.6.1 and Bios 05. I used the external enclosure method to intall. Everything was working great when all of a sudden It started acting up. It would take forever to boot, freeze etc. So I ran NBI 0.8.3 again restarted and it wouldn't even boot. I get to the screen with the apple and the spinning wheel then about 20 lines of code appear and I get the message to restart the computer which doesn't do anything but give me the same message. Is this a common problem with a hackintosh? The only program I added was open office so I could do some word processing. Downloaded from the WWW.

Mine's behaved just fine for the month plus I've used it daily.

I used the same method and have the same bios version as you. I have zero issues, not even a hint of a kernel panic. If I had to guess, you probably updated to 10.6.1 after the HD was installed back into your mini using software update?

Per the external HD method all updates should have been done while it was still connected to your Mac, followed by reinstalling to mini and running NBI 8.2 followed by NBI 8.3 (without generating dst file...the use of 8.2 and 8.3 may seem redundant, but Jacques has determined that this approach is the most stable).

Dell Mini 10v Mac OSX 10.6.2 1 GB RAM 160GB HDD BIOS A05 Blue Tooth 1510 WLAN 802.11g /n

NBI 8.2 -> NBI 8.3RC2 -> NBI 8.3RC3 -> NBI 8.3RC5 -> NBI 8.3 alpha

USB Legacy Disabled | USB Wake Enabled | BT Enabled |

SSD or HD?

I would just try to do an upgrade install if all else fails.
If upgrade install fails, you should do a full install and make sure you reformat the hard drive.
