Thanks for such a quick reply: just to make sure I've got this right: I only ran the NetbookBootMaker0.8.3 app on the USB pen's copy of Snow Leopard as per Gizmodo's instructions.
There's another file though in the same location I downloaded NetbookBootMaker called NetBookInstaller 0.8.3. Are you saying I just run this app on the Dell's installed OSX?

Yes re-run the NetBookInstaller 0.8.3 you have installed on OSX, point it to your hard drive again and re-install. doing this should fix the issue with the sound.

Just found this out for myself. Whew, was glad that re-running NBI in regular OS X fixed it.

Angry Reinstalling NBI 0.8.3 doesn't fix 'No audio device' on Dell Mini 10v - 04-23-2010, 10:18 AM

I've tried every fix available on these forums to fix the audio device on my Dell Mini 10v running SNL 10.6.1 and none of them are working. Any further advice?

@evenablindsquirrel have you done any hardware mods? (Like upgrade the RAM). If no then I would suggest running NBI 0.8.4RC1 to fix the Audio Issue
