Yeah, RAM prices seem to be on the upswing (boo, hiss!). You can grab a buddy and pick up a pair of OCZ at amazon for about $30 a stick.

They now offer 2gb ram with the ubuntu package for 279.99 add 50.00
the ram of course 329.99!
