Default Bluetooth on Mini 10v? - 10-23-2009, 06:08 PM

Hi there
I have a Dell mini mini 10v running 10.6.0 with Netbookinstaller 0.8.3RC 3
I want to buy the new Apple Magic Mouse. Will this work?
And under syspref there is no bluetooth option, how do i enable this?
I have tried to enable bluetooth in the bios and in Netbookinstaller without luck

Please help. I really want that mouse :P

You mouse will be ~ 25% of the cost of your system.... just saying.

do you know if you actually have the bluetooth module installed?

in the bios the bluetooth option is always there (even if you don't have the module installed). Check your build spec sheet for dell bluetooth module.

You could add a BT USB dongle thing...and get it to talk to that if you dont have BT device in your 10V.

I bought my 10v on the Danish dell website with all standards. There wasn't anything about bluetooth so maybe i don't have the module installed. Is there a way to control it?

I installed a Bluetooth board at the same time that I upgraded my RAM to 2GB on my new DM-10V. I ordered it on eBay and it came directly from China. I used the bluetooth fix that allows one to turn the BT on and off, and it is just awesome! I really like it; seems considerably more responsive than the BT in my Mini-9 that came stock.

Near enough the exact same process & I agree 'Awesome!" - I've ordered the 'Magic Mouse' for my imac but will try it with my mini (lets see if it's really 'magic' lol)

I had the fix working on my Mini9 that allowed me to turn BT on and off, but I can't seem to make it work on my 10v (with the China bluetooth upgrade module) Bluetooth works perfect and It works with my MightyMouse, but I can't turn it off.

can you point me to how you got it to turn on and off?

Did you do the fix in safe mode? This seems to make all the difference. Also, there is a delete file in those instructions that if not done, will kill the mod.
