A06 Leopard working flawlessly - 10-17-2009, 12:31 PM
Although this is my first post and I dont want it to sound off topic, I would like to thank everyone for their support. This forum has been amazing. Actually I think Dell should sponsor this site. I never thought of buying a Mini until I found this forum. The next day I went out and bought a Mini 10v, with the sole purpose of turning it into a hackintosh.
Anyway, I wanted to share my experience with other 10v users who do not wish to downgrade their system.
For 3 days I was trying to get OSX to install without any luck using Netbookbootmaker, (All versions) but I had no luck.
Yesterday I went out and bought an external USB DVD writer and used the information provided in DellEFI 3. (My Leopard disk was 10.5.0) DellEFI 3: Installing using External DVD Drive | Guides | OS X | mechdrew
Installation ran smoothly following that guide step by step, (on one occassion I had to power off the system cause it hang but other than that it went on fantastic. I combo-updated to 10.5.8, and ran the DellEFI that the guide used. The problem was I had no sound. I then ran Netbook Installer but still I had no luck. I then used the DellEFI for 10v (duh!!!!) which i found here ---> Fool Proof No Hassle Mini 10v Install EVERYTHING WORKS!!
And tadaaaa everything works!!! I am now the proud owner of a complete Hackintosh!
I would like to ask one question. Right now I have a list of software updates that the update utility suggests.
Airport utility 5.3.2
Remote Desktop Client 3.3.1
Airport Utility 5.4.2
Java for Mac OS X
Security update 2009-005
Am I suppose to install these through software update, or do i have to omit some.
Thanks a lot for any info on this.
