Default How's the performance compared to a mini 9? - 10-11-2009, 09:09 PM

I own a mini 9/stec 8gb/2gb ram and like the snappiness of os x due to the SSD. I really want to get a 10v just because of the hard drive space. I'd like to upgrade the ssd but the price/gigabyte ratio is crazy right now.

About the same. The two use practically identical electronics, and your SSD isn't particularly fast (theoretical max 25w/85r).

Dell Mini 10v | OSX 10.6.1 | 2GB RAM | 160GB HDD | 1510 Wifi | BIOS A04 | USB Legacy: OFF | USB Wake: ON | OEM BT 2.0: ON | NetbookInstaller 0.8.3 RC3

Status: A little slow to boot. Otherwise perfect!

I've had both now. I really like the keyboard and trackpad on the Mini 10v so much better. The rest of the performance is about on par with the Mini 9. Really the only draw back I've had is that my battery life is terrible compared to my Mini 9. That might be the spinning HD (I upgraded mine to a 7200 RPM 320 GB drive) along with some other factors, or I might have simply got a lemon of a battery.

Mini 10v | 2 GB | 320 GB HD | OSX 10.6.3 | NBI .8.4 RC1 | BIOS A06 | No BlueTooth
