lol, they ripped the other guy off. haha. i have a 6cell too, and without wifi i get like 8 hours, with wifi i get around 7hrs.

This is starting to drive me nuts.

I discovered that my machine was crashing any time it went to sleep, so i installed the SleepEnabler kext. that did virtually nothing. Then i found this thread, and ran this:

Code:
1) turned the 2 usb/legacy? settings off in bios
2) disabled "secure virtual memory" in system preferences -> security
3) terminal:
sudo pmset hibernatemode 0
sudo rm /var/vm/sleepimage
4) reboot
and got a kp on boot as soon as the apple appears. turned usb legacy off, and it boots fine now. however, it still craps out whenever it sleeps.

so i ran:
Code:
pmset -g
and it returned:
Code:
Active Profiles:
AC Power -1*
Battery Power -1
Currently in use:
 hibernatefile /var/vm/sleepimage
 hibernatemode 0
 disksleep 10
 sleep 53
 displaysleep 53
 lidwake 1
 ttyskeepawake 1
 womp 1
 halfdim 1
 autorestart 0
fyi, my setup is:
dell mini 10v
1gb ram
A03
10.6.3
NBI 8.4 RC1

can anyone help? thanks!

My sllepimage happen to be in /var/vm/sleepimage so I added a new property to /Extra/com.apple.Boot.plist:
<key>WakeImage</key>
<string>/var/vm/sleepimage</string>
and annoying message "Hibernate Image File too old..." gone for my hibernatemode=3

Curious souls may want to download Chameleon source code and analyze i386/boot2/boot.c file.

Did this today. Works great. Thanks!

You will find Terminal in your Utilities folder. You can also get there by going into Applications and selecting Utilities and then Terminal, or just click on Finder in the Dock and enter Terminal in the search box.

You can either type in the codes as posted, or copy and paste.

You will need to enter your system password to do anything Sudo in Terminal.
