Hi !

I installed 10.5.8 sucessfully on my Dell Mini 10v but sometimes it happens that the startup doesn't work. It just hangs at the gray screen with the apple logo (without the spinning wheel). Any ideas what could be wrong ?

Same here. Seems to be a harmless but incurable nuisance.

You're not doing the "dance to the mini gods" right.

Yes, it's a pain. Reboot and all will be well. And/or upgrade to 10.6 - it seems to be less frequent.

Mine seemed not to boot 1 out of every time.. but all of a sudden, my last three reboots still didn't get me in, and I'm worried.

I'll check this again when I get home, and hopefully it'll boot. All I did was download Open Office..

Mine does it (sticks at Apple logo) maybe a third of the time, when I'm alone that is. Whenever I am showing off my new Mac Mini it is guaranteed to stick. But like my sympathetic friend said, "As long as it doesn't crash". That has not happened since I installed OSX on my Mini.

Mine had intermediate issues on 10.5.8, until I hit it with a 123 combo: Repaired disk permissions, swapped around my BIOS settings, re-installed NBI in safe mode. Then it booted every time.

Failing that, 10.6 is rock-solid on the 10v with NBI!
