Has anyone done an install from an external drive? For ease of upgrade across 4 macs, I just put my Leopard install disk onto a bootable hard drive and was wondering if I could use this instead of a USB drive? |

Yes... this would work fine, but you would need to run NebookBootMaker on the drive. After you have patched the install drive with NBM you will not want to run it on a machine that is not a mini (AFAIK). Maybe meklort has included some checking to make sure you do not run a patched disk on a "real Mac"... but I am not sure, so I would play it safe! How would I install 10.6 on a 10v using an external USB DVD drive instead of a USB mem stick? Do I need to create netbookbootmaker and netbookinstaller DVD? Any help would be appreciated.  |
