Default Mini 10v, 10.5.8 - Will Not Wake from Sleep - 09-06-2009, 07:56 AM

UPDATE 26 Sept 2009: I lucked into the solution: Mini 10v, 10.5.8 - Will Not Wake from Sleep - Here's the original problem.

This really seems like a question which is answered on no less than thirty other threads, but I'm stunned I couldn't find it.

Mini 10v
A05
OS X 10.5.8 (Combo update from 10.5.6 install)
Installed with NetBook Installer 0.8.2
USB Legacy Support disabled in BIOS
USB Wake disabled
No Bluetooth

Simply, it doesn't wake from sleep - either from the lid closing or from the menu. At least the monitor doesn't come back to life. Nothing brings it back; keys, trackpad buttons or momentarily hitting the power button. I need to force shutdown and reboot.

I tried rerunning Netbook Installer and disabling "Use secure virtual memory" in SystemPrefs/Security (I saw that elsewhere).

I'm ready to try whatever I haven't tried yet. Thanks!

I know this sounds weird, but have you tried enabling those two in BIOS? You can see in my signature that my 10v has both enabled, and it works fine most of the time.

Thanks - so far. I tried all the configurations just now, but no dice.

Here's what I just noticed. The LED never goes into blink mode. From what I can gather, the 10v stays on because after a few hours, it's still warm. Obviously, only the monitor goes off, and won't come back on.

It also dawns on me that I put a Kingston 64gb SSD in this 10v a couple of weeks ago, and that could be causing some of this behavior. Any previous reports of that?

I'm running into the same issue. I have tried all BIOS combinations, etc. Very strange that it is working fine for others.

What BIOS are you using; I'm on A04?

I'm still curious as to whether this is related to my SSD. It just seems as if sleep shuts down the monitor, but not the rest of the 10v...and it never recovers without a hard reboot. Has anyone else come across this problem?

got exactly the same situation after 10.5.8 upgrade.
when I close the lid, the led stays on, the screen is off but 10V still warm... it never goes into sleep mode.
No other way than a reset to get it back.
I've tried different enabled/disabled configuration in bios but it didn't change anything.
I have a 160GB HDD, so no SSD for me.
My bios version is A00

Just to eliminate what I know to be an issue.

Do you have a USB mouse, or wireless mouse? Do you have an external monitor?

I find that if anything is connected to the computer when it goes to sleep it will freeze.

Nope on all counts.
